Indian paddlers advance in WTT 2026
In a big table tennis event called the WTT Feeder Series 2026, some young Indian players did really well.
A 16-year-old girl named Hansini Mathan, who is the youngest junior national champion in India, beat a higher-ranked player from Korea.
She also won a doubles match with her partner Sampada Bhiwandkar.
Another player, Sanil Shetty, came back from behind to beat a second-seeded player.
In the mixed doubles, Payas Jain and Syndrela Das also won their match against higher-ranked opponents.
Other top players like Manush Shah, Snehit Suravajjula, and Ankur Bhattacharjee also advanced to the next round.
It was a great day for these Indian table tennis players!
Hansini Mathan, a 16-year-old junior national champion, defeated world number 78 Yoo Yerin to advance to the second round.
Sanil Shetty overcame a two-game deficit to beat second seed Harmeet Desai in the men's singles.
Payas Jain and Syndrela Das won their mixed doubles match against higher-ranked opponents.
Manush Shah, Snehit Suravajjula, and Ankur Bhattacharjee also advanced to the next round in the men's singles.
The event is part of the WTT Feeder Series 2026, held at the SAMA Indoor Sports Complex in Vadodara.
