Modi Govt Grants Citizenship to 12 Bangladeshi Hindus
The Indian government has given citizenship to 12 Hindu families who came from Bangladesh many years ago.
These families were running away from bad treatment because of their religion.
They had to live in India without proper papers, which made their lives very hard.
They couldn't get jobs or go to school easily.
Now, with the new citizenship papers, they feel safe and happy.
They can finally plan for their future without fear.
The Indian government helped them through special camps and offices.
Some political leaders in West Bengal had been making it difficult for these families to get citizenship, but now they are very thankful to the central government for this big change.
12 Hindu refugees from Bangladesh received Indian citizenship under the CAA.
These families fled religious persecution and violence in Bangladesh.
They had been living in West Bengal without proper documents for decades.
The BJP government set up help desks to assist with CAA applications.
Political opposition from TMC, CPM, and Congress delayed their citizenship.
