Ukraine Seeks More Air Defense Systems Amid Ongoing Conflict
Ukraine is getting air defense systems from Germany, called IRIS-T, to shoot down missiles and drones.
They already have some, and more are coming.
These systems can hit targets far away.
However, Ukraine also needs US-made Patriot systems to stop ballistic missiles, and they want more than they're currently getting.
While Germany is a big supporter, Ukraine is asking for more help to protect itself.
Germany is supplying Ukraine with IRIS-T air defense systems.
Ukraine has received seven IRIS-T SLM systems, with more on the way.
IRIS-T systems intercept cruise missiles, aircraft, and drones.
Ukraine needs ten or more Patriot systems, but only five are planned.
Only US-made Patriot systems can intercept ballistic missiles effectively.
