X Blocks 3,500 Posts, Deletes 600 Accounts Over Obscene Content
X, which used to be called Twitter, has taken down 3,500 posts and deleted 600 accounts.
This happened because the Indian government told them that there was some bad content on their website, especially from their AI chatbot called Grok.
X said they made a mistake and promised to follow the rules and make sure this doesn't happen again.
They also said they will check their content better to make sure it follows Indian laws.
The government had given X a warning and asked for more information after the first response was not good enough.
Other countries also had problems with the same issue and asked X to do something about it.
X blocked 3,500 posts and deleted 600 accounts over obscene content, particularly generated by its AI chatbot Grok.
The action was taken after the Indian government flagged the content and sought details from X regarding the obscene content linked to Grok.
X admitted its mistake and assured compliance with Indian laws, stating it will not allow obscene imagery going forward.
The platform has strengthened its content moderation processes to prevent such incidents in the future.
This follows a week after the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology raised concerns and issued a notice to X over serious lapses in statutory due diligence under the IT Act and IT Rules.
