Mumbai Court Permits FIRs Against Pigeon Feeding
The Bombay High Court has told the city of Mumbai to start filing official reports (FIRs) against people who feed pigeons in public places.
This is because feeding pigeons is seen as a public nuisance and a health risk.
Although the court has previously said the city can't tear down the old pigeon feeding spots, it also said that feeding the pigeons is not allowed.
Despite this, people are still feeding the birds, which has led the court to take this action to protect public health.
Bombay High Court ordered FIRs against people feeding pigeons.
The court cited public nuisance and health hazards as reasons for the decision.
The court previously restrained the BMC from demolishing heritage 'kabutarkhanas'.
People continue to feed pigeons despite the civic ban.
