Jamshedpur FC Withdraws from ISL Over Fee Dispute
Jamshedpur FC is a football club in India that plays in the top league called the Indian Super League.
In July 2024, the club said it would stop playing in that league from the next season because it could not pay the required fee.
The club’s parent company, JFSPL, will keep working on football for young kids across India.
The players and coaches are not sure what will happen to them, but the club says it will try to keep their contracts.
The league’s rules let clubs leave after two years, so this is allowed.
The decision surprised many fans and players, who were shocked because the club has been successful and is owned by the big Tata Group.
Jamshedpur FC announced it will not participate in the ISL from the 2026-27 season onward.
The club failed to meet the Rs 1.1 crore participation fee deadline, prompting withdrawal.
JFSPL will continue grassroots football development across India.
Players and staff face uncertainty; contracts may be honored or transferred.
AIFF and ISL clubs had a new agreement allowing clubs to exit after two years.
