NBCUniversal Lands 'Jason Bourne' and 'Treadstone' Franchise Rights
Imagine your favorite spy movies, the Jason Bourne ones!
Well, the company that makes those movies, NBCUniversal, just won the rights to keep making them.
They had to outbid others in a big competition, like a movie rights auction!
This means more Bourne movies are coming!
The movies have made lots of money already, over a billion dollars!
The same people who made the first movies will continue making the new ones, and there's even a new movie in the works, with maybe the original actor, Matt Damon, coming back.
So, get ready for more action!
NBCUniversal secured the rights to Robert Ludlum's 'Jason Bourne' and 'Treadstone' series after an auction.
The deal includes all rights except publishing, ensuring the franchise's future at NBCUniversal.
Seven offers were submitted, including bids from streaming services and other studios.
Frank Marshall will continue as producer for future installments, with Captivate Entertainment also involved.
A new Bourne film is in development, potentially with Matt Damon and a script by Joe Barton.
