Jammu Police Attach Land of Pakistan-Based Militants Under UAPA
Jammu police chief Nalin Prabhat told the police to take over land owned by five people who are believed to be militants living in Pakistan.
The police said these people might sell the land and use the money to help terrorists.
The land is about 4.5 acres.
The police are using a law called the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act, or UAPA, to do this.
They want to stop the militants from getting money and help from outside the country.
Police chief Nalin Prabhat ordered attachment of land owned by five suspected militants.
The militants are believed to be based in Pakistan and have exfiltrated for arms training.
The attached land totals about 4.5 acres in Mahore and Sildhar, Reasi district.
The action is under Section 25 of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA).
Police claim the militants plan to sell the land to fund terrorist activities.
