Bengal BJP duo get bigger roles for 2029 Lok Sabha polls
A political party in India called the BJP gave two people from Bengal bigger jobs.
One of them is Madhuchhanda Kar, a doctor who helps people with cancer.
She has been a doctor for 32 years and has worked for the party for a long time.
The party made her one of its national vice-presidents.
The other person is Manoj Tigga, who is a member of parliament.
He was made a national secretary of the party.
These new jobs are part of the party's plan for the next big election in 2029.
Kar said the new job is both an opportunity and a responsibility.
She said she will work for the party in both the state and the whole country.
The party is in power in the state and at the centre, so she said she will have no issue working in both places.
Madhuchhanda Kar, a senior oncologist and BJP national council member, was appointed national vice-president.
The appointment is part of Nitin Nabin's team to fight the 2029 Lok Sabha polls.
Manoj Tigga, BJP MP from Alipurduar, was appointed the party's national secretary.
Kar has served as president of the party's doctors' cell, headed its women's wing, and was Bengal BJP vice-president.
Kar said the new post is both an opportunity and a responsibility, and she will work at state and national levels.
