Andhra Pradesh to Get 3 New Districts
The Communist Party of India (Marxist) in Andhra Pradesh wants the state government to create a new district for tribal people.
They want to combine three areas—Chinturu, Rampachodavaram, and Polavaram—into one district.
The party says these areas have special problems and need better services.
They are worried that these areas might be merged with East Godavari, which they think is not a good idea.
The party leaders met in Vijayawada and made this demand.
The government has already proposed two other new districts, but the CPM is focusing on this tribal district.
The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N. Chandrababu Naidu, has announced the formation of three new districts—Polavaram, Markapuram, and Madanapalle—increasing the total number of districts from 26 to 29.
The government has also sanctioned the creation of five new revenue divisions and a new mandal.
The new Polavaram district will include the Rampachodavaram and Chinturu revenue divisions, addressing part of the CPM's demand.
