Govt Clarifies CGHS OPD Fees for Central Employees
The government has clarified the fees for doctor visits under the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS).
If you see a Super Specialist doctor (with DM/MCh qualifications), the fee is Rs 700.
For other specialist doctors, the fee is Rs 350.
This rule applies only in hospitals approved by CGHS.
For hospital stays, you can have up to two consultations per specialist per day.
The government made these rules clearer to avoid confusion and ensure correct billing.
Always check the doctor's qualifications and ensure the hospital is CGHS-approved before your visit.
Rs 700 OPD fee applies only to Super Specialist (DM/MCh) consultations in CGHS-empanelled hospitals.
Rs 350 OPD fee applies to Specialist doctors without super-specialist qualifications.
Maximum of two consultations per specialist per day for IPD patients.
Clarification issued to resolve confusion after last year's CGHS rate revision.
Beneficiaries should verify doctor qualifications and hospital empanelment before visits.
