Lloyds Metals Expands with Tata Steel Pact and Copper Mining Bet
Lloyds Metals and Energy Ltd has made big moves recently.
They signed a deal with Tata Steel to work together on iron ore mining and processing.
They also bought half of a company called Nexus, which has rights to mine copper in Africa.
This could be a good investment because copper is in demand, but it might be hard to start mining there because of political issues.
The deal with Tata Steel could help Lloyds improve their mining and make better steel.
The company is growing fast and making more money, but their stock price is already quite high, so investors will be watching to see if they keep doing well.
Lloyds Metals signed a non-binding MoU with Tata Steel for strategic collaboration in iron ore mining and steelmaking.
Lloyds acquired a 50% stake in Nexus Holdco FZCO, which holds copper mining licenses and a processing plant in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The Nexus acquisition involves a $55 million cash payment and is expected to close in June.
Lloyds' iron ore mining in Gadchiroli, Maharashtra, is benefiting from reduced left-wing extremism and has environmental clearance for up to 55 million tonnes annually.
ICICI Securities projects 114% Ebitda growth for Lloyds over FY25-27, but current valuations appear full at 9.6x FY27 Ebitda.
