India Reaffirms National Ownership at UN Peacebuilding Meeting

India took part in several important meetings at the United Nations General Assembly.

Its representative, Sibi George, said countries should lead their own peacebuilding and nation-building efforts.

He highlighted sharing power locally, using digital public services that focus on people, and including women and young people.

India also described financial and training support it has provided to developing countries.

At another meeting, India repeated its support for a two-state solution.

George said development should build skills and resilience, not only provide money.

He also called for cooperation to return cultural objects to their original countries and communities.

These statements presented India’s approach to peacebuilding, development, and international cooperation.
