CD Sales Rise in US

CD Sales Rise in US

CDs are making a comeback in the US, especially among younger listeners who see them as collectibles rather than just music playback devices.

Sales have increased by 16% in the first half of 2026, with K-pop artists like BTS, ENHYPEN, and ATEEZ driving much of this growth.

Many buyers do not even own a CD player, valuing the artwork and exclusive merchandise instead.

This resurgence is part of a broader revival in physical music formats, including vinyl and cassettes.

Despite this, streaming continues to dominate, with a 9.8% increase in global on-demand audio streams.
