Kolkata Metro Purple Line Expands Services
The Kolkata Metro is making some changes to the Purple Line.
Starting December 1, 2025, there will be more trains running on weekdays.
There will be 84 trains each day, which is an increase from the current 80.
The first train of the day will leave a bit earlier, and the last train will leave a bit later.
This is good news for people who use the Sealdah-Budge Budge Line of the Eastern Railway, especially in the morning and late evening.
On Saturdays, there are already 40 trains running, but there are still no trains on Sundays.

Last train from Joka will depart at 21:05 hrs, and from Majerhat at 21:26 hrs.
