Hormuz Shipping Traffic Plunges 95% Amid Iran War

The Strait of Hormuz is a narrow waterway used by many ships.

It carries oil, gas and other goods to different parts of the world.

Before the war, more than 100 ships passed through each day.

Now, only about five ships pass through daily.

That means shipping traffic has dropped by about 95 percent.

The waterway is described as closed during the war involving the United States, Israel and Iran.

Another tanker was hit as tensions continued.

The disruption could make it harder to move important goods around the world.
