China's Economy Slows: Factory Output and Retail Sales Weaken
China's economy is facing some challenges.
Factory production and retail sales are growing slower than before.
Unemployment is up a bit.
This is happening because people aren't buying as much, and the property market is struggling.
Trade tensions with the US are also causing problems.
Experts say that despite these issues, the economy is not collapsing.
Industrial production rose 5.2% in August, the slowest since last year.
Retail sales expanded only 3.4% in August, a decrease from the previous month.
The urban unemployment rate edged up to 5.3% in August.
Fixed-asset investment grew by 0.5% in the first eight months of the year.
Property investment decreased by nearly 12.9% year-on-year through August.
