NYFF Currents Lineup Premieres Tala Hadid's 'Bardi' at Festival
The New York Film Festival is a very big movie event in New York City.
This year it will happen from September 25 to October 12.
One part of the festival is called Currents.
It shows movies that try new and different ways of telling stories.
The people in charge of the festival are called Film at Lincoln Center.
This year, Currents will show 15 full-length movies and 28 short movies.
Five of those movies have never been shown anywhere before.
One of them is called 'Bardi,' made by Tala Hadid.
It is about horse-riders in Morocco and a very old horseback ceremony called Tbourida.
The Currents section of the New York Film Festival will include the world premiere of Tala Hadid's film 'Bardi.'
The Currents lineup comprises 15 feature films, five world premieres, one restoration world premiere, and 28 shorts.
The festival will run from September 25 through October 12.
'Bardi' explores horse-riders in central Morocco and the 16th-century equestrian ritual Tbourida.
Other world premieres include Carlos Reygadas' 'Heil Jupiter!' and Tiffany Sia's 'Overt Listening,' which addresses the Cold War legacy of China and Taiwan.
