Nepal Police Rescue Bank Assets as Floods Bring Mass Burials

Severe floods hit parts of Nepal and caused major damage.

Police went to a damaged bank branch in Trishuli Dhunge to protect its money, gold, and records.

They worked for about eight hours in difficult conditions.

They recovered around Rs 1.5 crore in cash and gold worth about Rs 50 crore.

The valuables were taken to a safer, highly protected place.

The floods also swept away many people.

In Chitwan, some bodies could not be identified because they had badly decomposed.

Officials buried hundreds of them to reduce the risk to public health.
