Kaleshwaram Project: Ex-MD Hari Ram Outlines Borrowing Process
Hari Ram, the former head of the Kaleshwaram project, told the P.C. Ghose commission about how he borrowed money for the project.
He secured about 56,913 crore rupees in loans.
He got these loans from various banks.
The loans were from the Union Bank of India consortium, PNB consortium, Bank of Baroda, PFC Limited, and Nabard.
Hari Ram was also involved in parts of the project, like building reservoirs.
He mentioned that the first loan came from the Union Bank of India.
He also stated he disbursed cheques to agencies after receiving pay orders.
Bhookya Hari Ram, a key accused, initiated borrowing for the Kaleshwaram project.
He submitted an affidavit before the P.C. Ghose commission on July 15, 2024.
Loans were sought from multiple banks and financial institutions.
The total amount borrowed was approximately `56,913 crore.
Hari Ram was associated with Link-IV and Link-V of the project.
