Telangana to launch You Quote We Pay scheme for medical faculty
The Telangana government is planning to start a new scheme called You Quote We Pay to hire more teachers for its medical colleges.
Right now, there aren't enough teachers, especially at the associate professor level.
This new scheme will let doctors choose their own salary, which is different from how the government usually sets salaries.
The government will first try this in 10 medical colleges and will focus on areas where there are not enough teachers, like radiology and cardiology.
They hope this will help them find good teachers more easily.

Doctors can negotiate their remuneration under this scheme, unlike traditional government salary scales.
Initial rollout will be in 10 medical colleges, focusing on high-demand specialties like radiology and cardiology.
The scheme aims to fill associate professor positions, which currently have a significant shortage.
Proposals are ready and awaiting formal approval from the commissioner of health and family welfare.
