ISRO to Launch US Firm's Bluebird-6 Satellite
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is going to launch a big satellite called Bluebird-6 for a US company named AST SpaceMobile.
This launch will happen on December 24 from a place called Sriharikota in India.
The rocket they are using is called LVM3, and it's the biggest and most powerful rocket India has.
The satellite is very heavy, about 6,500kg, and it will go up to about 550 km above the Earth.
AST SpaceMobile wants to use this satellite to help mobile phones connect to the internet directly from space.
This means people might be able to use their phones for internet even in places where there is no regular internet service.
ISRO has done this kind of launch before for other companies, but this is the first time they are doing it for an American company.
ISRO is set to launch the Bluebird-6 satellite for AST SpaceMobile on December 24 from Sriharikota, India.
The launch will use the LVM3 rocket, India's most capable space launch vehicle.
Bluebird-6 is the heaviest payload ever carried by an Indian rocket, weighing 6,500kg.
This is the first commercial mission for an American customer, following previous launches for a European customer.
AST SpaceMobile aims to provide direct internet connectivity to mobile phones via a fleet of satellites.
