Akasa Air Eyes International Expansion to Kenya, Egypt, and More
Akasa Air, a relatively new airline, is planning to fly to more countries.
Their CEO, Vinay Dube, said they are thinking about adding flights to places like Kenya, Egypt, and Ethiopia in Africa, and also some places in Asia.
They are also getting ready to fly to Sharjah very soon.
The airline has 30 planes and is waiting for more to arrive, which helps them plan these new trips.
They already fly to a few cities outside of India and are hoping to carry more passengers internationally in the next few years.
The airline is also looking to hire more pilots next year and is confident about its future plans, including potentially going public with an IPO in the next few years.
Akasa Air is considering international flights to countries like Kenya, Ethiopia, and Egypt, alongside upcoming flights to Sharjah.
The airline has a fleet of 30 Boeing 737 MAX planes and anticipates more deliveries this year, with a firm order for 226.
Current international operations constitute 20% of Available Seat Kilometres (ASK), aiming for 30% by March 2027.
Akasa Air expects to resume pilot hiring in the second half of 2026 and plans for an IPO within two to five years.
CEO Vinay Dube stated that all regulatory observations have been addressed to the satisfaction of the DGCA, with no safety concerns.
