Tata Steel Q1 Forecast: Profit Decline, Sales Growth
Tata Steel is a big steel company in India.
Analysts think the company will make a little less money in the first part of the year, about 2.5 to 7.3 percent less than last year.
But it will sell more steel, about 11 percent more, and its total sales will be almost 59 billion rupees.
In Europe, the company expects to lose money, especially in the UK and the Netherlands, because of problems in making steel.
In India, the company expects to earn more money per tonne of steel because it can sell it at higher prices, even though the cost of coal is higher.
The price of a type of steel called HRC is also higher, which helps the company earn more money.
Overall, the company will earn less profit but will sell more steel and have higher revenue.
Net profit expected to fall 2.5–7.3% to around Rs 2,026–2,048 crore.
Consolidated sales projected to rise 10.9% YoY to Rs 58,986 crore.
European operations forecast EBITDA losses, especially in the UK and Netherlands.
Indian business EBITDA per tonne expected to increase by Rs 2,500 due to higher realizations and coking coal costs.
HRC prices up 9% YoY, boosting revenue but offset by higher coking coal costs.
