Adnan Sami: Remake Culture Not New, Give Credit to Originators

A famous singer and musician named Adnan Sami talked about songs that get made again in new versions.

Some people think making new versions of old songs is a brand-new idea.

Adnan says this is not new at all.

He reminded everyone that movie songs called 'item songs' existed long ago, when people called them 'cabaret songs.'

He also said that when two singers sing together today, we call it a 'collab,' but in the past it was called a 'duet.'

And something called a 'recreate' today was called a 'remix' in the past.

Adnan remembers that many remixes happened in the 1990s and early 2000s.

He says he is okay with recreations.

But he wants people who created the original songs to be given credit.
