FIIs Turn Net Buyers After $2.5 Billion July Inflow

FIIs Turn Net Buyers After $2.5 Billion July Inflow

Foreign investors from other countries sometimes buy and sell shares of Indian companies.

For many months, those investors were mostly selling their Indian stocks, taking money out.

In July 2026, they changed direction and bought about $2.5 billion more in shares than they sold.

That was their biggest buying month in over a year.

Most of that money went into just two kinds of businesses: companies that serve consumers and healthcare companies.

Indian investors also bought about $3.7 billion worth of shares, so the market had extra support.

Experts at the financial company Motilal Oswal say calmer world tensions, steadier energy prices and good company profits are making India more attractive to foreign investors.

They warn, however, that world problems could make foreign investors stop buying again.

So the news is good for India's stock market, but it is too early to know if the buying will last.
