Amazon MGM Studios Restructures TV Co-Production Division
Amazon MGM Studios is changing how it handles TV shows made with other studios.
Two key people, Kara Smith and Tom Lieber, are getting new jobs with more responsibilities.
Smith will oversee drama, comedy, and existing shows.
Lieber is returning from London to manage genre-based shows.
These changes happen because of some big shifts at Amazon MGM Studios, like Jennifer Salke leaving her role.
The move shows the studio wants to create successful and long-lasting TV series for viewers.
Laura Lancaster, a key figure, thinks Smith and Lieber are perfect for their new roles because of their past successes.
Amazon MGM Studios executives Kara Smith and Tom Lieber are taking on expanded roles within the co-productions division.
Smith, previously Head of TV Development, will now lead Co-Production Drama, Comedy Development, and Current Series.
Lieber returns from London to become Head, Co-Production Genre Development, and Current Series.
The changes reflect Amazon's focus on long-running series and creative excellence, according to Laura Lancaster.
The restructuring follows Jennifer Salke's departure and aims to strengthen the TV co-productions department.
