Branded Hotel Room Demand to Rise
A report by YES Securities says that the demand for branded hotel rooms in India will grow faster than the supply over the next five years.
The demand is expected to grow at 10.4% per year, while the supply will grow at 8-9% per year.
This means more people will want to stay in these hotels than there are rooms available.
Some cities like Amritsar and Lucknow will see a lot of new hotels, but others like New Delhi and Pune will have fewer new hotels.
The report also says that some cities might have too many hotels for a while, which could make it harder for hotels to make money.
Overall, this should help hotel prices and how often rooms are filled to improve.
Demand for branded hotel rooms in India is projected to grow at 10.4% CAGR from FY25-30, outpacing supply growth of 8-9% CAGR.
Mid-premium and economy hotels are expected to see the most expansion, with supply growth between 9-11% CAGR.
Key growth cities include Amritsar, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Lucknow, Navi Mumbai, Noida, and Udaipur.
Some markets may experience temporary oversupply, leading to increased competition and pressure on revenue per available room (RevPAR).
Actual supply growth may remain around 7.7% CAGR over FY25-30E, with metro markets adding at just 4.6%.
