High Court Rejects Bail in Immigration Fraud Case

High Court Rejects Bail in Immigration Fraud Case

A woman allegedly paid money to be sent to Canada.

She said the promise was not fulfilled and that all her money was not returned.

Police accused Satpal Singh and others of cheating her.

Singh asked the court for protection from arrest before trial.

His lawyer said the case was really a money dispute and that the evidence was already documented.

The government said investigators needed to question Singh in custody and recover money.

The court said these cases can harm people who hope to move abroad.

It also warned that immigration fraud can sometimes be connected to human trafficking.

The court therefore refused to grant anticipatory bail.
