The Godawan Uses Blue Pottery to Tell Bustard Conservation Story

The Godawan Uses Blue Pottery to Tell Bustard Conservation Story

The Godawan is a short animated film about the Great Indian Bustard, a bird in serious danger.

It was made by animation director Suresh Eriyat.

The film uses stop-motion animation and Jaipur blue pottery.

More than 5,200 handmade ceramic pieces were used.

Its story follows one egg that has not hatched yet.

The film uses the fragile pottery to show how vulnerable the bird’s future is.

Female bustards lay only one egg each year.

Diageo India supported the conservation programme and helped fund the film’s production.

The film appeared on YouTube on October 4 during World Wildlife Week.
