Jharkhand High Court Orders Power Restoration After Long Dispute
Imagine you pay your electricity bill, but your power still gets shut off.
That's what happened to a man in Ranchi.
Even though he paid, his electricity was off for over 60 days.
He asked the electricity company and other officials for help, but nothing happened.
Finally, he went to court.
The court told the electricity company to turn his power back on because he paid his bill.
The court also said that other people shouldn't be able to stop the electricity from being turned back on.
The man's lawyer argued that it was his right to have electricity and that the company was violating his rights.
A Ranchi resident had his electricity disconnected for over 60 days despite paying all dues.
The resident, Santosh Sharma, sought help from various authorities before approaching the High Court.
The Jharkhand High Court directed the Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited (JBVNL) to restore the power.
JBVNL admitted no pending dues, but cited 'obstruction by outsiders' due to a land dispute as the reason for non-reconnection.
The court stated that third parties cannot interfere with the restoration of essential services.
