Airbus Asks Airlines to Inspect A330neos for Possible Stray Tools

Airbus found a possible problem involving objects, such as tools, in part of the tail of some A330 aircraft.

The company has asked airlines to check their A330s when they are already doing planned maintenance.

The checks are a precaution while Airbus and aviation regulators work out which planes may be affected.

The aircraft could have been made between 2021 and July 2026.

The European Union Aviation Safety Agency says the issue is not an immediate safety concern.

Airbus expects the regulator to identify the affected planes and set a deadline by mid-November at the latest.

Airbus says it is committed to aircraft quality and safety.
