Shiv Sena Corporator Assaults Doctors
A Shiv Sena corporator named Ramesh Mhatre and his supporters got into a fight with doctors and nurses at a hospital in Dombivli, Mumbai.
This happened because the doctors said a pregnant woman needed to go to another hospital since there were no beds available for her baby.
Mhatre and his supporters got angry and started hitting the doctors and nurses.
A video of this fight went viral on social media.
The court said Mhatre couldn't go free and he had to stay in jail for 14 days.
Another woman involved in the fight, Sadhana Karande, was also taken into police custody for a day.
Shiv Sena corporator Ramesh Mhatre surrendered after the Bombay High Court canceled his bail.
Mhatre and his supporters allegedly assaulted doctors and nurses at Shastri Nagar Hospital in Dombivli.
The assault followed a dispute over the referral of a pregnant woman due to unavailability of NICU beds.
Mhatre was remanded to 14-day judicial custody, while another accused, Sadhana Karande, was remanded to one-day police custody.
A video of the alleged incident went viral on social media, showing Mhatre slapping a lady doctor.
