Mumbai Wholesale Milk Price to Rise ₹9 From September 1

Mumbai Wholesale Milk Price to Rise ₹9 From September 1

Milk producers in Mumbai plan to charge more for milk sold in large quantities.

The wholesale price will rise by ₹9, from ₹93 to ₹102 per litre.

The new price starts on September 1, 2026, and is planned to continue until February 28, 2027.

Producers say it costs more to buy dairy animals and feed them.

Some feed ingredients have become up to 25% more expensive.

Transportation and other operating costs have also increased.

Shops and local milk sellers may raise their prices, but they do not all have to increase them by exactly ₹9.

Higher milk costs could also affect curd, paneer, bakery items and sweets.

Families that use a lot of milk may therefore spend more.
