Nine brave women from India’s Army, Navy and Air Force sailed around the world on a ship called IASV Triveni.
They did it in 314 days, covering 25,500 miles across four oceans.
The trip proved that women can do tough military jobs and showed how the three services can work together.
The Defence Minister praised them for their courage and said they inspire everyone in India.
The journey also helped India make friends with other countries by visiting their ports and sharing Indian culture.
Nine women officers from the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force completed India’s first all‑women Tri‑service circumnavigation, Samudra Pradakshina, aboard IASV Triveni.
The 314‑day voyage covered nearly 25,500 nautical miles across four oceans, meeting all international circumnavigation criteria and earning membership in the Cape Horners fraternity.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh praised the crew as a symbol of Nari Shakti and Tri‑service jointness, highlighting their resilience, teamwork and India’s indigenous engineering.
The expedition was flagged‑in virtually on 11 September 2025 and concluded on 22 July 2026 in Mumbai, after almost two years of training and shore‑based support.
