Kawasaki KLX230R S: Price Drops Due to India-Made Production
Kawasaki made its KLX230R S motorcycle cheaper by making it in India.
They still sell the original version (CKD) that is assembled using parts shipped from elsewhere, which is more expensive.
The Indian-made version is a little heavier because it uses a different frame.
However, the performance is quite similar.
The main difference is for serious off-road riders, who might prefer the CKD version for its lighter weight.
Both models have the same engine and are not street legal in India.
Kawasaki reduced prices on the KLX230 and KLX230R S motorcycles.
The KLX230R S is now made in India, leading to significant price drops.
Both CKD and India-made KLX230R S models are available.
CKD unit uses an aluminum swing arm and weighs less.
Indian-made version uses a high-tensile steel frame and tweaked suspension.
