CBI Files FIR Into Disha Salian Death, Names Thackerays
Disha Salian was a celebrity manager who died after falling from a building in Mumbai in June 2020.
She had briefly worked with actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who died six days later.
Mumbai Police first recorded her death as accidental and later said it was suicide.
Her father, Satish Salian, said she was sexually assaulted and murdered and that powerful people helped hide the truth.
The Bombay High Court ordered the CBI to investigate the allegations.
The CBI has now reportedly filed an FIR based on the father’s statement.
Several politicians, actors, police officials and others are named in reports.
Being named in an FIR does not necessarily mean that a person has been formally made an accused or found guilty.
The CBI has reportedly registered an FIR into Disha Salian’s death following a complaint and statement from her father, Satish Salian.
Reports say the FIR concerns alleged gang rape, murder, conspiracy and a subsequent cover-up under several IPC sections.
Uddhav Thackeray, Aaditya Thackeray, Rhea Chakraborty, Dino Morea, Sooraj Pancholi and others are named in reports, though officials said they have not been directly made accused.
Mumbai Police and a later state SIT previously treated Salian’s death as accidental or suicide and found no evidence of foul play.
The Bombay High Court ordered a fresh CBI probe on September 2, while stating that nobody should be treated as an accused without sufficient grounds based on investigation material.
