Godrej Agrovet Partners with Maha Mission to Empower Women Farmers
Godrej Agrovet, a big company that helps farmers, has teamed up with the Maharashtra State Rural Livelihoods Mission.
They want to help over 5,000 women farmers in nine districts of Maharashtra.
These districts are places where a lot of cotton is grown.
The plan is to teach these women better ways to farm, like how to take care of their crops and manage pests.
This will help them grow more food and make their families' lives better.
The project will last for three years and will also involve groups of women who help each other, called Self-Help Groups.
They will learn through workshops and special farms that show good farming practices.
The goal is to make farming more sustainable and help these women have better lives.
Godrej Agrovet partners with Maharashtra State Rural Livelihoods Mission to empower 5,000 women farmers in nine cotton-growing districts.
Three-year program focuses on Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and Integrated Pest Management (IPM) to improve farm productivity.
First year covers 50,000 acres of farmland and engages 100 Self-Help Groups (SHGs) per district.
Program includes training workshops, farmer field schools, demonstration plots, and distribution of safety kits.
Plans to expand beyond cotton to include maize and other crops in the future.
