Grassroots Worker Appointed Srikalahasti Temple Chairman
The Andhra Pradesh government selected Kotte Sai Prasad, a Jana Sena party worker, to lead the Srikalahasti temple.
This is a surprise because the government usually chooses senior leaders.
Prasad's appointment is seen as a reward for his dedication.
The previous chairman's term ended in March 2024, and the temple was run by an Executive Officer.
The government also appointed V. Surendra Babu as the chairman of the Varasiddhi Vinayaka Swamy Devasthanam in Kanipakam.
Prasad's selection followed internal discussions within the NDA coalition.
Kotte Sai Prasad, a Jana Sena worker, was appointed chairman of the Srikalahastheeswara Swamyvari Devasthanam.
The appointment was recommended by the Deputy Chief Minister of the state.
The position had been vacant since March 2024.
Sai Prasad was previously targeted during a protest.
V. Surendra Babu has been appointed chairman of the Varasiddhi Vinayaka Swamy Devasthanam in Kanipakam.
