AAP Questions Simultaneous SIR Exercise and Zilla Panchayat Elections in Goa
Imagine there are two important tasks to do: holding local elections and doing a special survey.
A political party called AAP met with the people in charge of elections.
They asked why these two things have to be done at the exact same time in a place called Goa.
The party worried that because everyone will be busy with the elections, they won't have enough time to do the survey properly.
They also pointed out that the big state elections aren't for a long time, so the survey doesn't need to be rushed.
They suggested doing the survey after the local elections are finished.
AAP delegation met Election Commission officials in New Delhi.
The delegation, led by Atishi, questioned the urgency of the SIR exercise in Goa.
AAP raised concerns about conducting the SIR exercise simultaneously with Zilla Panchayat elections.
The party stated that election preparations would prevent proper monitoring of the SIR exercise.
AAP suggested the SIR exercise could be conducted after the Zilla Panchayat polls conclude.
