Madhya Pradesh Launches Narmada Mission With ₹100 Crore Annual Funding

Madhya Pradesh has created a new program to protect the Narmada River.

The program is called the Nirmal evam Aviral Maa Narmada Mission, or Naman Mission.

The state will give it ₹100 crore every year.

More money may be provided through other government schemes when needed.

Experts and government departments will help run the program.

Computers, maps, satellites and artificial intelligence will be used to check the river’s condition.

People and private organizations may also participate through funding and partnerships.

One minister said the annual funding might be too small, but officials said other departments would add money.
