GE Vernova T&D India Leads 6,000 MW Transmission Tender

GE Vernova T&D India Leads 6,000 MW Transmission Tender

GE Vernova T&D India offered the lowest price for a large electricity-transmission project.

The project would connect Barmer II with South Kalamb in India.

It is designed to move up to 6,000 megawatts of electricity.

The connection would use high-voltage direct-current technology.

Two special stations would help convert and manage the electricity.

The electricity is expected to come from a renewable-energy generation zone.

GE Vernova T&D India would design the system, supply equipment and help build it.

However, the company has not won the final contract yet because Power Grid still has to complete the tender process.
