Mevani accuses Gujarat govt of drug trade
Jignesh Mevani, a Congress leader in Gujarat, said that a lot of illegal drugs worth Rs 64,000 crore have been seized in the past five years.
He thinks the government is not doing enough to stop this and wants the Deputy Chief Minister to resign.
He also wants the government to tell everyone about the people involved in this illegal business.
The BJP, the party in power, says Mevani's claims are not true and he should prove what he's saying.
Mevani also said that drugs are being sold near schools and colleges, which is a big problem.
The BJP thinks Mevani is just making things up and not acting like a responsible leader should.
Congress MLA Jignesh Mevani alleges a flourishing drug trade in Gujarat worth Rs 64,000 crore in the past five years.
Mevani demands the resignation of Deputy CM Harsh Sanghavi and a special Assembly session to address the issue.
He claims drugs are sold near educational institutions and accuses top officials of negligence.
The BJP dismisses Mevani's allegations as baseless and calls for evidence.
Mevani criticizes the government for focusing on a retreat (Chintan Shivir) instead of the drug problem.
