Tapeswaram Village to Supply Laddus for Ganapathi Festival
Tapeswaram village is famous for making big, special laddus for the Vinayaka Chaturthi festival.
Two men, Mallibabu and Venkateswara Rao, used to make the biggest laddus.
They competed in making enormous laddus.
One laddu even made it into the Guinness World Records.
After a problem with the laddus in 2015, Mallibabu stopped making the biggest ones for a while.
This year, Mallibabu is making a lot of laddus again.
People who help make the laddus prepare them with great devotion.
Tapeswaram village, known for Khaja, is also famous for large laddus made for the Vinayaka Chaturthi festival.
P. Mallibabu and the late Venkateswara Rao were known for preparing the biggest laddus.
A fungus infection in 2015 led Mallibabu to stop making large laddus, and Venkateswara Rao has passed away.
In 2016, Mallibabu provided a 500-kilo laddu to Khairatabad Ganesh free of charge.
Mallibabu has received orders to make four tonnes of laddus this year.
