Stranger Things Inspired by Montauk's Camp Hero

Stranger Things Inspired by Montauk's Camp Hero

Stranger Things, the popular Netflix show, is inspired by real-life conspiracy theories from a place called Camp Hero in Montauk, New York.

The show's creators, Matt and Ross Duffer, initially wanted to name it Montauk because the story is based on rumors of secret government experiments that happened there during the Cold War.

These experiments were supposed to involve things like mind control and time travel.

There are even stories about a monster that was accidentally created by a psychic.

While you can visit Camp Hero today, you can't go inside the military buildings.

The place is popular for activities like fishing and hiking, but the eerie vibes make it feel like the Hawkins from the show.
