Court Rejects PIL on IndiGo Compensation
A group called CASC asked the court to make IndiGo and the government pay passengers four times their ticket price because many flights were cancelled.
The court said it was already dealing with a similar case and told the group to join that one instead.
The group said passengers had a lot of trouble with cancelled flights, lost baggage, and no clear information.
The court said it would not take up this new case but allowed the group to join the existing one.
The court had earlier asked the government why it did not act sooner to fix the problem.
Delhi High Court refused to entertain a PIL seeking four times compensation for passengers affected by IndiGo flight cancellations.
The court directed the petitioner to intervene in an existing PIL on the same issue.
The petitioner, CASC, highlighted passenger inconvenience due to flight cancellations, baggage issues, and lack of communication.
The court had previously questioned the government's delay in addressing the IndiGo flight cancellation crisis.
The PIL also sought an inquiry into DGCA's role in the crisis.
