Andhra Pradesh App Brings 60,000 Library Books Online for Students
Have you ever had to walk all the way to a library just to look for a book?
In a place called Andhra Pradesh, in India, the government made a special app for that.
The app is called the AP Libraries App.
It is like a giant online bookshelf.
So far, 60,000 books have been put into the app.
That is a lot of books — enough to fill many shelves!
The app helps students, job seekers, and people who love reading.
If you want a book that is in another town, the app can tell you where to find it.
This means you do not always have to visit the library to search for a book.
Librarians are asking everyone to install the app on their phones, and the library leader even gave 250 new books to help students prepare for big exams.
The Zilla Grandhalaya Samstha uploaded a digital catalogue of 60,000 books (out of a lakh) into the AP Libraries App in Kakinada.
The AP Libraries App was introduced by the Andhra Pradesh government as a digital platform for public library services and educational resources across the state.
The Samastha operates 101 branch libraries, and librarians are encouraging students and general readers to install the app on their smartphones.
The app helps users identify books available in other libraries across the state, such as competitive exam preparation materials from another district.
Samastha chairman Bhupathiraju Saibaba Varma donated nearly 250 competitive exam-related books, and their catalogues have been uploaded to the app.
