Vijay To Launch TVK Campaign Ahead Of October 6 Bypolls
Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay is preparing to campaign for two special elections.
The elections will happen on October 6.
They are being held in Maduranthakam and Dharapuram.
Two former AIADMK lawmakers resigned and joined Vijay’s TVK party.
Their resignations created the need for new elections.
Opposition parties say TVK caused this situation by persuading the lawmakers to switch sides.
Vijay’s party is expected to highlight welfare programs and his popularity.
Only 5,000 people with special QR-coded passes may attend his first campaign event.
TVK chief and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay will begin campaigning Friday at Maduranthakam.
Bypolls are scheduled for October 6 in Maduranthakam and Dharapuram Assembly constituencies.
The contests followed the resignations of AIADMK legislators Maragatham Kumaravel and P Sathyabama, who joined TVK.
Opposition parties accuse TVK of forcing the bypolls by attracting elected AIADMK legislators.
