Delhi Police Register 25 FIRs as Protests Over CEC Continue

Delhi Police have opened about 25 cases connected to protests since October 2.

The protests have called for Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar to resign over issues with voter lists.

Police say the cases include alleged damage to public property, fights, and blocking government work.

Some cases also involve people allegedly breaking rules that limit gatherings.

Police said an INDIA bloc march had not been officially approved.

Some opposition leaders later held a protest at Akashvani Bhavan.

Another case was registered after a Thursday protest near a restaurant in Connaught Place.

That gathering included a minor scuffle between Congress and BJP supporters.

Police have warned that gatherings are not allowed while the restrictions remain in force.
