Karnataka Schools Must Issue Transfer Certificates Within 15 Days
The Karnataka Education Department has told all schools to give Transfer Certificates (TCs) to students within 15 days of asking.
This is to make sure kids don't miss school.
If schools don't do this, parents can complain to the Block Education Officer (BEO), who will help solve the problem.
The rule is for when kids move from private schools to government schools.
If there are fees to pay, the BEO or a special committee can help.
The department made this rule because many parents complained that some schools were taking too long to give TCs, especially when kids were moving to government schools because their families couldn't afford private school fees.
Karnataka Education Department orders schools to issue Transfer Certificates (TCs) within 15 days of application.
Failure to comply may result in action against school principals.
Parents can file complaints with the Block Education Officer (BEO) if TCs are not issued on time.
The directive follows numerous complaints about delays in issuing TCs, particularly when transferring from private to government schools.
Outstanding fees can be resolved through a committee headed by the Chief Executive Officer of the respective Zilla Panchayat.
